Your approved stories become a digital book you can download. Keep it close, share it widely, or take the next step into publishing. You choose.

Start with your PDF book

  1. Open My stories. Read each draft, make any changes and approve the stories you want in your book.
  2. Choose “Download my PDF book”. Your device will offer to open or save the file.
  3. Open the saved PDF. Use your device’s Share button or attach it to an email for the people you choose.

A PDF keeps the pages together in one file. It can travel from one generation to the next. The people receiving it can read it without a Worth the Telling account. Keep a backup somewhere you trust.

I want to sell an ebook

You can prepare a self-published edition for a store such as Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP). Your editable Word download is a starting point for that edition.

  1. Download the Word file from your stories. Check the words, chapter titles and names.
  2. Follow the store’s formatting guide. Add a cover, description and the author name you want to use.
  3. Preview the book, choose your price and distribution options, then submit it through your publishing account.

Amazon accepts Word manuscripts and provides tools to prepare and preview Kindle books. Each store reviews the files you submit.

At publication, answer the store’s questions about AI use accurately. Amazon asks you to disclose AI-generated text, including text drafted by AI and later edited. Stories drafted by Worth the Telling use AI; review the guidance for the edition you submit.

I want printed copies

Use a local printer or prepare a print-on-demand edition through a service such as Amazon KDP. It can become a gift for family or a book you offer for sale.

  1. Choose your printing service, book size and paperback or hardcover format.
  2. Use your Word download to adjust the pages to that service’s template. Add a cover made for your chosen size.
  3. Check the service’s preview and order a proof copy. Once you like it, order copies or make the book available for sale.

The printing service will show its production and delivery costs before you order.

Before sharing, choose the stories and audience with the storyteller. For a community project, follow the permissions and protocols agreed with the people concerned. Once someone has a copy, they can pass it on.
